The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam University is a comprehensive 5.5-year professional clinical degree recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) / Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.
The program synthesizes classical Vedic medical traditions—including Ashtanga Hridaya, Charaka Samhita, Dravyaguna (herbal pharmacology), Rasa Shastra, and Panchakarma therapies—with contemporary scientific anatomy, clinical physiology, diagnostic pathology, and surgery. Supported by an affiliated on-campus Ayurvedic hospital, botanical herbal gardens, and modern clinical diagnostics, students receive immersive clinical exposure across all 5.5 years, culminating in a 1-year compulsory rotatory clinical internship.
